Happy Mother's Day

Lincoln, Wyatt, Natalia, and Simone, Thank you for the wonderful Mother's day.

My Favorite part of the day was the morning. I got a yogurt parfait and oj in bed. Natalia was jealous and said, "I want breakfast in bread."

They gave me some great cards. Talia made me two. One little book stapled together with the funniest little sentences and two Popsicle sticks with jokes on them glued inside.
She wrote things like;
My Mommy like book.
My Momy like Friends.
My Momy like partes. (parties)
I love my Mommy.
My Mommy likes to go to the mall and buy sum clothes.
My Mommy likes yo yo. (not true! but she can spell it)

anyway...

Then Natalia came up a few minutes later with her own parfait, and crawled in next to me.

She exclaimed, "THIS is the best Mother's day ever!"

She glanced at my emerald goblet filled with goodness, and said, "Hey! I don't have any BLUEBERRIES! I am going to go get some."

She left. She came back.

"Daddy said they're at the bottom." (Her cup was clear. =)

Then Simone came in with her golden dress and said, "Please help me. My dress is out side out."

I was smiling and laughing. It was a really good morning.

I am so grateful to be a Mother, and for all the Mother's in my life! I hope you had a wonderful day and got to sleep in as long as I did! (11:53 am friends! We weren't too late for church.) =)

My Golden Dress

Simone wears this EVERYDAY!

She has it on now.

She wore it to Cub Scout Pack Meeting.

She crawled into bed with me at about 6:30 yesterday morning, and she was already out of her pajamas and in her golden dress.

I talked her into changing out of it for church on Sunday.

I had to convince her to put play clothes on to go to the gym this morning.

I had to get some pretty pictures of her in it with the Cherry Blossoms.

It is so fun living with a little princess.

Another Birthday

My little Lincoln Wyatt turned nine today- except he's not so little any more. Whoa...I have a nine year old. Crazy times!

He requested a Narnia birthday party with a battle! We had a battle last year during his birthday camp out and it was definitely a highlight of his whole year!

We found these great foam battle weapons at the toy store! I know Wyatt owns enough swords and axes and the like to supply a battle, but these were MUCH softer. We had several different scores from battle scenes blasting from my Bose speaker. It worked perfectly! Lincoln used a Medieval Times worthy voice the entire time! It was the best. He made the rules and the kids followed them. There was not a single tear during the whole battle....which lasted about an hour and half! They had a blast. The pizza guy brought lunch to us at the field, we had cupcakes and opened presents and had a great day with our cousins and best friends.

Looks like the blue team won.
If you got hit in the head or body you sat down. If you didn't want to be hit- you sat down. =)

Blue team ready to go.

"For Narnia"

We set up a battle circle and the kids each had a duel. Lincoln (while on his knees) was dueling cousin Ian when without a word each kid picked up a stick.....

and started wailing on Lincoln! It was so funny!

Now that I think I about it, I did yell "GET UNCLE LINCOLN!"-- but I said that to Ian.

I thought it would be great to get some pan and zoom shots...and as soon as I took this my camera battery died. oops. This one kinda turned out, but I would have like to get a few more. Oh well....I'll try again at the next battle.

We went to Famous Dave's for dinner.

Three adults (Penny is in NY)
EIGHT kids!
We were seated and people looked at us with annoyed stares-like we were about to ruin their night out.
BUT WE DIDN'T
They were so so so well behaved.
Our waitress even commented on how great they were.

Wyatt had two cousins spend the night.
I let them stay up really late playing video games.
The birthday boy requested an apple pie instead of a cake,
so I made him one from scratch on Sunday morning.
After church we went to the cousin's house. Lincoln grilled up some burgers and we had a feast!
The pie was good. It got a thumbs up from the person I made it for. =)

Happy Birthday Wyatt! We love you so so so much.
